Sony Alpha A57 at each ISO setting

I tested the Sony A57 pre-production model I have for the weekend at each of the ISO settings. All photos were taken on Aperture Priority, F5.6 on the kit lens set around 20mm. These are straight jpegs out of the camera.

I've also posted the flickr files, in case you want to see the hi-rez file. Just click on the ISO below the picture. I can't upload the hi-rez to blogger.

  1. hey thanks for these! I'm not 100% i like what i see, but got to give credit where it's due.

In your opinion, how does this camera compare to the NEX-5n? I'm torn here trying to hold out on purchasing until the a57 is out and fully tested.. but ah.. I'm not sure it's worth the wait

  3. Thanks for these a57 postings Rob. I think it will be a very nice addition to my aging Maxxum 7D. The images more than suitable for my needs. I would like to see images shot with studio strobes from the a57 with a wireless flash trigger, but will understand if that is not possible in the short time you have with this camera. Thanks again.

  4. RAW files please. Sony jpgs are rubbish.

  5. Too much "noise" for the price of this camera. Many other better products out there, for the same amount of dollars... Not worth it... Thank you for posting anyway...

    1. I don't see so much noise in these pictures... Compared to 600D for example, it is equal. I am currently looking for a camera of this range and the alpha 57 is the only one that really matches with what I need (better than the Alpha 65 for ISO - check the raws on dpreview).
