Best shot of the day

Where is this?

Easy guess if you've been there, not so easy if you haven't.

First casualty of the trip was the battery in the Zeiss Ikon. I should have grabbed the silver model. I had just put fresh batteries in that one, but no, I brought the black camera and the battery died after half a roll.

Now I have to bring the entire family to Le Grand Format camera store to get a new battery. Oh well, I'll have fun drooling over all the latest/coolest LF stuff.

Today's best shot was done with the A550 and the Zeiss 24-70mm F2.8. It's the arch at the Arc de triomphe.

  1. Hi, Rob

Looks like you really like the A550 a lot. Tell us why? I have the A200 and A700, should I upgrade to A550 for my wife?

  2. I do like the files I'm getting from the A550. It seems to be way better in low light than any of the other models including the A900. The camera has a great set of features including a vertical grip and live view, which is more useful than one might expect.

It seems to have all the features of the A700 plus a few more. It would be nice if it was metal though. The size is great as well, making it a little easier to lug around.
