Sid the Kid

I've shot a lot of hockey games since Sidney Crosby entered the NHL, but I never saw him play until this week. Either he was sick and missed the games I was working, or I wasn't shooting the games he was at. I even missed last years Stanley Cup Finals because I was back-packing through China for the last two games and you couldn't get them on TV.

Anyway I caught him this week. This was shot with the Sony A550 at ISO 3200. The lens I was using is the lens of choice for hockey photographers shooting at ice level... the 70-200 F2.8. Mine is the Sony G version. It was shot at F2.8 at about 1/1600 of a second.
