Sharpness isn't everything but wow is this sharp

I had a chance to play with the Leica M8 this afternoon. The lens was the Zeiss Biogon 25mm F2.8.

I realize photography isn't all about sharpness. That great pictures have been taken with trashy cameras that never took a sharp picture. I know there are great photos done everyday with toys... but wow, if you want sharp images the M8 and Zeiss lens are a great combo.

This first shot is the whole frame. The second shot it just the centre portion. The cropped image is still very sharp.

Maybe quality isn't everything but you've got to love it when you get it. You can see the entire line-up of Zeiss lenses for rangefinders here.
