Stefan Rose invites you to see his latest work

About a year ago Stefan Rose placed a order for a custom run of Ilford 8x20 inch film through my store. Once he received the film he was able to put together a collection of photographs using his 1927 wood field camera using the two tripod method you see in this photo.

This collection has become a full gallery show of Stefan's photographs and poems and opens Thursday at the Rotunda Gallery. Stefan is showing a year's worth of work called Grand River: Grand Conversations, which examines Kitchener's geography and history, residents sense of place and the environment using photographs and poems. He is Kitchener's Artist in Residence.

There are 16 8x20 photos on display at the gallery plus five images are displayed on Grand River Transit buses as interior panels, to provide access to these artworks as a surprise for the riders.

The gallery images are all 8x20 contact prints of the work and are all in black and white.

You are invited and can meet Stefan and his giant camera at the official opening Thursday 5-7pm while the show itself runs until the end of the month. The location is the Rotunda Gallery at Kitchener City Hall (map) 200 King St. West.

  1. Thanks, Rob. I saw Stefan give a talk very early in the year and am looking forward to seeing what has 'developed'.
