Maybe you know someone looking for a job

I worked on the Photo Desk at the Hamilton Spectator Sunday night and noticed the paper has a posting for three summer intern positions. I have nothing to do with this posting, and using my name as a reference would work against you, but if you know someone interested pass this on.

The Hamilton Spectator is hiring three young journalists for its 2011 summer intern program.

We have yet to finalize when we’ll do the interviewing.

The positions will run from roughly May to the end of August.

Candidates must be versatile journalists comfortable working in print, on the web and with multimedia. Video shooting and production and photography skills are an asset. Fluency in social media is a must.

We are looking for imaginative, engaged and energetic interns who are willing to take on any challenge and who can provide story ideas for the Spectator and thespec.com.

Candidates should make available examples of their work, either in their application or online.

Please send applications toSpecjobs@thespec.com

Aviva Boxer and Shaun Herron will be conducting the interviews.
